I would like to thank those who went to this years Biketoberfest.  Everyone had a great time.  I can’t be sure, but, I believe that our chapter actually had the most members in kilts than any other station. I can’t wait to see how many more we can get for  next Bike Week in March.

We are getting an early start in the planning and set up of our annual charity event in January, and I would like to get quite a few of the members to assist our officers in finding sponsors to donate items to be raffled and auctioned off at the party.

For those who haven’t been to one yet, we have a charity party at Buffalo’s in Orange park every January. It always coincides with the Fire/Rescue East Expo at the Prime Ozbourne convention center. Chapter 1 purchases a booth up at the show to promote our club, and to hand out flyers inviting them to our party. We raise money for sick and injured firefighters and their families. We hold 50/50 raffles, prize raffles, and an auction to raise money. We will be holding a meeting in November to discuss our “plan of attack”. I will announce the date and time soon.

I would like to congratulate Larry Hinton on his new appointment as Road Captain. Larry’s always there when needed, almost never misses a ride or event, and helps whenever he’s needed. Thanks again, Larry.
